Dundee United fans gathered in Amsterdam for a street party ahead of Thursday’s Europa Conference League qualifier against AZ Alkmaar.
Hundreds of supporters converged in the city centre as they painted the Nieuwmarkt Square tangerine, singing late into the night.
United were given an allocation of around 1300 tickets for the match, but it is thought many more have travelled to the Netherlands to soak up the atmosphere of United’s first European adventure in a decade.
Long-term supporter Grant Petrie said: “As soon as you come into the city square you just feel the vibe and the excitement that European football’s brought back.
“It’s absolutely fantastic.”
Dave Hill, who is a matchday commentator for United, said: “To get an away trip in such a beautiful place as Amsterdam and Alkmaar is fantastic.
“And to see the amount of fans is a credit to them for making the journey over.”
And praise was heaped on the travelling Arabs who took the time to clean up Nieuwmarkt Square following the celebrations last night.
Hats off to the @dundeeunitedfc fans who took the time to clean up Neuimarket Square in Amsterdam after a wee pre-match party this evening. Proud To Be An Arab 👏👏 pic.twitter.com/a3s51mOpcC
