Both north and southbound carriageways on the A90 west of Dundee have reopened following two car crashes.
The dual carriageway northbound near to Errol had been closed and a 41km diversion was in place as emergency services responded to a one-vehicle collision.
Motorists travelling northbound were required to exit the M90 near Perth at Barnhill before re-joining the A90 at the Kingsway near Camperdown.
Officers were also in attendance at the A90 southbound near Longforgan following another crash.
It is understood the incidents took place shortly before 11am on Friday.
‘It looked quite serious’
A passing motorist said that the vehicles involved look “badly damaged”, while another reported seeing four police cars, two ambulances and two fire appliances in attendance.
One driver said: “I was leaving Dundee on the A90 and drove past the crash near Longforgan at around 11am shortly after it happened. It looked quite serious.

“It looked like two vehicles were badly damaged and then I could see there was another incident that must have happened before near Errol with the police already in attendance there.
“The emergency services will be there dealing with those for some time I imagine.
“I really hope everyone involved is okay.”
