Two Dundee FC legends made a surprise visit to the home of a Dark Blue diehard to take in the Dens Park club’s Friday night clash with Aberdeen.
Dundee greats Bobby Glennie and Brian Scrimgeour paid Angus Gallagher a visit after he was selected as part of a competition to recognise big-hearted fans.
Foster carer Angus can no longer attend his beloved club’s away matches due to caring commitments and was entered into the contest by his son Lee.
The Dundee fanatic only became aware he had been entered into the competition two weeks before his heroes arrived armed with pizza and beer.
Angus revealed: “My son Lee nominated me for the competition and I had no idea I’d won until a couple of weeks ago.
“It was a great night — apart from the score of course (Dundee lost 3-0).
“To have two club legends round to the house to watch the game with us was amazing and a night I’ll never forget.”
Ken McEwan, chief executive of competition organisers and Dundee FC sponsor McEwan Fraser Legal, said: “We are delighted that we could make this a very special evening for Angus with the help of Bobby Glennie and Brian Scrimgeour.
“Through our commitment to Scottish football we have the opportunity to create these once-in-a-lifetime experiences for supporters and we are keen to continue to approach our sponsorship in a way that puts fans at the heart of our activity.”
