Tributes have been paid to a Dundee mum who died after collapsing in the street at the weekend.

Jamie Low was on her way home from her friend’s house in Fintry when she suffered an epileptic attack on Saturday night.

The 42-year-old’s partner desperately tried to save the mum-of-two, followed by paramedics, but Jamie died at the scene.

Tributes paid to Fintry mum Jamie Low

Jamie, who had COPD as well as epilepsy, was walking the short distance to her home, also in Fintry.

When she collapsed her friend called Jamie’s partner, Ally Ramsay, who she shares her children and grandchildren with.

Jamie leaves behind her son Connor Ramsay, his sister Courtney Ramsay, 22, and her two daughters.

Connor, 19, paid tribute to his mum.

He said: “We are all absolutely devastated.

“Mum was far too young to die.

“Dad carried out CPR until the ambulance arrived.

“Paramedics took over but nothing could be done and my mum died outside in the street in Fintry.”

‘Nothing could be done to save her’

Jamie’s collapse happened just a week after she was taken to Ninewells Hospital when she suffered another epileptic attack.

Connor said: “They managed to help mum on that occasion but sadly this time the attack was too bad and nothing could be done to save her.

“Mum basically stopped breathing.

“I was upstairs in bed and dad called me down. When he told me what happened I couldn’t believe it.”

‘Mum would do anything for anybody’

Describing his mum as a “genuinely nice woman” Connor said the family has now been forced to fundraise to help pay for her funeral while they wait on post mortem examination results.

He said: “Mum was always chirpy and would do anything she could to help anyone.

“She was always helpful and would go out of her way for other people.

“So far people have been very generous and have donated almost £600.

“Any help we can get at all will be so much appreciated.”
