A police investigation has been launched after “masked men” are said to have entered a Dundee pub and attacked customers.
Emergency services were called to The Downfield (Doc Stewarts) on Saturday night, after men wearing balaclavas reportedly entered the venue brandishing poles.
It followed a disturbance minutes before, apparently involving two women at the Strathmartine Road bar.
Sources claim the women were asked to leave by staff before the incident continued further down the street.
Doc Stewarts: ‘This was an isolated incident’
A short while later, several masked men arrived at the bar, allegedly seeking retribution for one of the women involved.
There were initially no reports of any injuries.
Police Scotland have since confirmed two men were checked over by paramedics at the scene.
A spokesperson for Doc Stewarts said: “It looks like this was an isolated incident on Saturday, we’ve never had this kind of thing before.

“We are working with the police to make sure this never happens again.”
