Thieves have stolen two expensive vehicle batteries from a Dundee City Council bin lorry.
Crooks targeted the batteries at the council’s Marchbanks waste management depot on Dundee’s Harefield Road.
The robbery happened between 5pm on Monday and 6:40am on Tuesday.
Each battery has a value of several hundred pounds.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police in Dundee are appealing for information after two vehicle batteries were stolen from a Dennis waste collection lorry at a waste management premises in Harefield Road, Dundee between 5pm on Monday January 30 and 6.40am on Tuesday January 31.
“Anyone who has information that could assist officers with their enquiries is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
“Alternatively information can be passed to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Quoting reference number CR/2741/17.”
A Dundee City Council spokesman said anyone with information should contact Police Scotland.
