A fire at Dundee’s Swannie Ponds on Monday is being treated as deliberate. Firefighters were called to a blaze after a large quantity of toilet rolls went on fire in the pavilion at the Swannie Ponds, at Stobsmuir Park. No one was injured in the blaze and firefighters quickly brought it under control. Inquiries Police Scotland are treating the fire as suspicious. A spokesperson said: “Around 9.50am on Monday police were called to Stobsmuir Park in Dundee, following a report of a wilful fireraising. “Inquiries are ongoing.” Toilet rolls on fire A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “Police Scotland alerted us to to the fire in the pavilion just before 10am. “A large quantity of toilet rolls stored in the building were on fire when firefighters got there. Fire appliance at the scene. “Two appliances from the Kingsway attended and firefighters using breathing apparatus extinguished the fire in around 20 minutes.” He confirmed there were no casualties.
