Traffic faced restrictions on the Tay Road Bridge on Wednesday morning after a 15kg load of glue came unstuck from the back of a lorry.
Bridge authorities called on drivers to better secure their loads before crossing as they shared a picture of clean-up crews dealing with the “sticky situation”.
Traffic using lane 1 northbound was subject to restrictions just before 9am in order to protect workers spreading sand over the spillage.
In a social media warning, the bridge operator said: “We had a sticky situation develop on the bridge this morning.
Safety warning
“A 15kg tub of glue fell off the back of a lorry, but our team stuck to their task and cleaned it up.
“All joking aside, please make sure you secure all loads when crossing. This is for the safety of all users.”
They also called on grain carriers to cover their loads, saying there was a “substantial spillage of grain” across the full length of the northbound carriageway.
They added: “We will be sweeping the carriageway tomorrow to clear it up but this extra work can be avoided if carriers take more care.”
