A man has been taken to hospital after being found injured inside a Dundee block of flats.
Multiple police vehicles and an ambulance were called to Cullen Place in Craigie just after 10am on Thursday.
Onlookers said the 55-year-old appeared to have a head injury as he was taken away by ambulance.
CID officers going door-to-door
CID officers were in attendance and going door-to-door in an attempt to find out what had happened.
One resident told The Courier: “There were four police units and an ambulance that arrived a short while later.
“I saw two CID officers entering the block with evidence bags and uniformed police remained outside.
“Officers were taking statements and appeared to be going to a number of the neighbouring closes.
“When we saw all the officers and the CID I feared the worst.
“I saw one man being escorted to the ambulance and he had a nasty head injury.
“After he left, the police came out with a number of evidence bags.
“There was always an officer standing guard at the entrance of the block.”
One man living nearby says a “trail of blood” was found in the close on Wednesday, but the man’s injury was only discovered on Thursday.
He added: “The emergency services were contacted straight away.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police received a report of concern for a person at a property on Cullen Place in Dundee around 10.20am on Thursday.
“Officers attended and a 55-year-old man was found injured within.
“He has been taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment and inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
