Four alleged bogus callers have been charged by police following a spate of incidents.
Male suspects aged 52, 31, 28, and 18 have been charged in connection with incidents in Dundee’s Beaumont Crescent, Strathdee Terrace and Pitlessie Gardens, which are all said to have taken place on Friday.
A report has since been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Urging homeowners to remain vigilant, Detective Sergeant Sarah Brow said: “I would like to remind the public to be wary of anyone turning up at your home unannounced offering to carrying services or work.
“Bogus workmen take advantage of the vulnerable and elderly members of community for financial gain.
“I would urge anyone who suspects a bogus workman to be operating in the area to call Police Scotland on 101.
“Stay vigilant for elderly relatives, neighbours and friends – especially if they live alone.”
