Andrew Marr has spoken of his recovery from a stroke he suffered in 2013, claiming that his Dundee upbringing has hardened him.
According to the Radio Times, when speaking of the emotional impact of his stroke during filming of a new documentary about his recovery, the High School of Dundee-educated journalist quipped: “I don’t do tears. I come from Dundee.”
The documentary shines new light on the struggles of the 57-year-old Scot, who presents his own eponymous TV show on Sunday mornings, in recovering from his stroke four years ago.
In it, he reveals that if he had not been able to continue painting, it may have been one “couldn’t” too many.
Andrew Marr: My Brain and Me airs on BBC2 on Tuesday February 14 at 9pm.
