Dundee’s SNP administration are to propose a “modest” 2.5% rise in council tax at next Thursday’s budget meeting.
The administration’s finance spokesperson, Bailie Willie Sawers, said 80% of the city’s households will see a rise in council tax of less than 60p per week.
It is understood the increase will fund a £1.3 million investment fund in the city, which Bailie Sawers said would help prioritise “jobs, fairness, and young people”.
The higher increases would affect properties in council tax band E and above, with band E houses seeing a rise of £2 per week.
