A Dundee mum fears thieves were watching her home before breaking in and stealing televisions and clothes.
Kirsty Millar returned from a family party at the weekend to find her flat on Blacklock Crescent had been “turned over” by thieves.
The 34-year-old contacted police on Saturday night after discovering a 58″ Hisense Roku TV and a 50″ Sony Bravia TV were among the items stolen.
Kirsty, mum to two-year-old Kiana, fears her Linlathen home was being watched as she left for the Dundee Social Club that afternoon.
She said: “We returned home at around 8pm.
“My mum initially joked that it looked like I’d been broken into, she then discovered the TV in the living room was gone.
“The television from my bedroom was taken as well.
“Kiana’s room was turned over and a suitcase of holiday clothes for an upcoming trip had been rifled through.
“There were dresses taken and toddlers clothes for Kiana.
“They even raided through the tumble-drying and moved items out the way to get the TVs out.
“We’ve lived here for nine years and this is the first time we’ve experienced anything like this.”
Mum scared to sleep in Linlathen home after break-in
Kirsty was too scared to stay in the flat for two nights following the break-in and has increased security at the address.
She added: “We never stayed in the house on the Saturday or the Sunday – I couldn’t face it.
“Even being back I haven’t been able to sit down knowing someone has been in.
“Kiana doesn’t understand as she’s only two, she thinks witches have stolen our stuff.
“I’m very rarely out and I do fear that the property was being watched when I left.”
Fingerprints found at the house
“I feel angry that this has happened, we’ve installed a few cameras now to act as a deterrent.
“Given the size of the TVs and the fact they entered from a rear window I reckon there was more than one person involved.
“A garden chair was propped at the window of the bedroom.
“There was a separate chair at the other end of the garden, I’m assuming they used that to escape towards Fountainbleu Drive.
“The only positive thing is forensic officers have been out and appear to have got some fingerprints from the scene.”
Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating the break-in.
