Police in Dundee say they can find no trace of a young girl after concerns for her welfare were raised on Sunday by a member of the public.
Officers asked for assistance in tracing a youngster aged around six or seven years old – and last seen in Fairmuir Park around 7.20pm – after welfare concerns were reported to them.
But despite a “robust investigation” by specialist officers, police say they have not been able to identify the child.
Extensive searches were carried out in the area, including targeted door-to-door inquiries.
Police Scotland confirmed there had also been no missing person reports in Dundee matching the child’s description.
‘Concerning situation’
Chief Inspector Ross Fitzgerald said: “Understandably this has been a concerning situation.
“However a robust investigation was carried out and there have been no further reports received in relation to this child.
“Enquiries have now concluded and we’d like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter.”
Anyone with further information or concerns is asked to contact police by calling 101 and quoting incident 3009 of October 9.
