A new drive-thru KFC branch is set to open its doors at Asda Milton in the coming months.
The branch, which is located in the supermarket’s car park, is already under construction.
Pictures from the site show a new building has been erected, and “opening soon” banners with KFC branding have been put up.
New KFC at Asda Milton ‘coming soon’
The news comes just over a year after European Garages (EG Group) were given permission to build a drive-thru takeaway on excess parking at the Asda store.
EG Group already owns and operates more than 50 KFC branches throughout the UK, and is the largest franchisee of the fast food chain in Western Europe.
The firm also purchased Asda from Walmart for $6.8 billion in 2020.
Its planning application, which was approved last September, states that the drive-thru will be open from 6am to 11pm Monday to Saturday, with an earlier closing time of 10pm on Sundays.
The plans also include 71 parking spaces for the restaurant and a circulation road.
Jobs at new store already available
The application states 30 new jobs will be created by the branch – and it would appear that recruitment has already begun.
In the past two weeks, EG Group has posted 13 listings seeking staff for the restaurant.
They offer a starting wage of £10.05 an hour for over 18s, along with a quarterly bonus and a store discount of 25%.
Two job adverts seeking an assistant manager have also been put online by KFC themselves, along with an advert offering a team leader position with an hourly wage of £10.55.
The branch will be KFC’s fourth in Dundee, with other locations already open at Camperdown, the Murraygate and Tom Johnstone Road.
It comes as the building of a Tim Hortons drive-thru nears completion just a few hundred metres away.
The fast food chain has been contacted for comment.
