The M&S Foodhall at Gallagher Retail Park in Dundee remains closed for a second day after a break-in and serious assault.
The incident – which took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning – forced the store to shut as police officers cordoned off the scene.
One man, 40, has been arrested in connection with the incident and is due to appear in court on Thursday.
An M&S spokeswoman told The Courier on Thursday the shop is not yet able to reopen.
Police were called to the scene at 4am on Wednesday following what was described as a serious assault and break-in.
A 46-year-old man was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment. His current condition is not known.
Police Scotland have now confirmed a 40-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident.
A force spokesperson said: “Around 4am on Wednesday officers were called to a report of a break-in and serious assault at a shop in Gallagher Retail Park, Dundee.
“Emergency services attended and a 46-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
“A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday.”
A spokesperson for Marks and Spencer said: “Our store remains closed due to yesterday’s incident – we hope to re-open soon.”
