Three 12-year-old boys have been reported to prosecutors in connection with the serious assault of a teenager near a Dundee school. Police confirmed the update on Tuesday after the incident on October 3 which took place near North East Campus in Whitfield shortly before 7pm. Following inquiries a spokeswoman confirmed the three youngsters had now been reported over the incident. Boys, 12, reported in connection with Whitfield assault She said: “Three boys, aged 12, have been reported to the Scottish Children’s Reporter and Procurator Fiscal in connection with the incident.” A 13-year-old had to be taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment of “serious injuries”, with witnesses said to have been left in shock. A crowd of youths were in the area at the time. A number of teenagers were in the area at the time of the attack. Two areas of Lothian Crescent were taped off by officers as a probe got under way and door-to-door inquiries were carried out. A public appeal for information was later issued.
