An overturned car has been left burnt out on a Dundee golf course.
Bosses at Ballumbie Castle say it is at least the third vehicle that has been torched on its grounds this year.
Firefighters were called to the incident next to the sixth hole early on Wednesday.
It comes four months after another car – thought to have been stolen – was set alight and abandoned on the course in a separate incident.
A spokesman for Ballumbie Castle Golf Club said: “This is about the third burnt-out car we’ve had on the course this year.
“We get the police involved and deal with it appropriately.
“Previously we had to move some cars to the side so it wasn’t interfering with the course.
‘I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many cars burnt out’
“We obviously have access points on the course – one particular entrance got widened due to works being done by Stewart Milne.
“I think whoever is responsible has seen that and used that as an opportunity.
“I’ve been working here for 20-odd years and I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many cars burnt out on the course in one year.
“I’ve no doubt there will be more but we just take every day as it comes.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.40am on Wednesday to reports of a vehicle on fire at a golf course on Old Quarry Road, Dundee.
“Operations control mobilised one appliance and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were made aware of a car on fire at Ballumbie Castle Golf Club in Dundee around 3.50am on Wednesday.
“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.”
