Dundee-born politician George Galloway is launching a new career as a children’s author.
The left-wing firebrand, who famously mimicked a cat on Celebrity Big Brother, announced on Twitter that he is to write a series of books about an “ethical pirate”.

The first in the series, Red Molucca the Good Pirate, is due to be published this year.
The former Labour and Respect MP told the BBC the books would be like a “Robin Hood of the high seas”. The books will be illustrated by Joe Cook.
Mr Galloway has already written a number of books for adults.
The news of Mr Galloway’s sparked a mixed reaction on social media, with many users congratulating Mr Galloway on the deal.
But Gideon Defoe, who writes The Pirates in an Adventure With… series of comic novels Tweeted: “Happy to announce The Pirates in an Adventure Where They Mess up Red Molucca Quite Badly is published this summer.”
