A 16-year-old boy has been arrested while another has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal following riots in Dundee on Monday.
Riot officers and a police helicopter were called in following disorderly behaviour in the Kirkton area.
Police reported fireworks and bricks allegedly being thrown at cars near the Old Glamis Road as crowds gathered.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged and is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday.
Another 16-year-old boy has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with mobbing and rioting offences and is expected in court at a later date.
Officers say they are continuing to identify others involved
Officers say they are following “several other positive lines of inquiry” and continuing to identify others involved.
Chief Superintendent Phil Davison, local policing commander for Tayside Division, said: “We know how distressing the disorder seen in Kirkton on Monday evening was for the local community.
“I want to reassure people that we are continuing to investigate a number of crimes committed during the evening and I fully expect others to be identified and charged as this work progresses.
“We have provided a highly visible police presence in the Kirkton area to provide a level of reassurance to local residents and this will continue in the coming days and into the weekend.
“I want to commend the local community for the resilience they have shown following this hugely disruptive and upsetting incident.
“We are fully committed to keeping people safe in the area and I would urge anyone with any information about the incident which has not yet been passed to police to call 101 or speak to any of our officers.”
Officers have launched a website for members of the public to send information directly and anonymously to investigating officers as they continue their enquiries.
The Superintendent added: “We would appeal to anyone with any information to use the portal link or contact 101.
“Anyone with any CCTV, dashcam or any other footage that they think would assist our enquiries can also send this via this link.”
