Police have increased patrols in the Brook Street area of Dundee after a 20-year-old woman was raped.
Officers say they are continuing to work to identify the man responsible for the serious sexual assault that happened during the early hours of Sunday morning.
The attack took place near Brook Close and Brook Gardens, where the majority of residents are young students.
Many expressed concerns for their safety following the incident, which left some frightened to leave their homes alone at night.
Officers have now ramped up patrols in the area while they attempt to identify the male suspect, who has been described as around 20-year-old with brown hair and a fringe.
It is thought he was wearing a navy hooded top at the time of the attack.
Officers ask for mobile footage taken around time of attack
Detective Inspector Marc Lorente said: “I would like to reassure the local community that we have increased police patrols in the area and are doing everything we can to identify the man responsible.
“A police presence will continue in the area, with the inquiry team consisting of local officers and detectives from Police Scotland’s specialist crime division.
“As well as tracing a number of people in the area, officers have been carrying out door to door inquiries and are continuing to review CCTV footage and carry out forensic work.
“The streets were busy with people and students following Halloween celebrations and parties and we would like to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or saw a man matching this description to come forward.
“We are aware there was a large number of people at parties in Brook Gardens at the time and we are keen to view any photos or footage from mobile phones taken by anyone in this vicinity in the early hours of Sunday morning as you may have captured something that could assist our inquiries.”
