An investigation has been launched following a fire at a former petrol station in Dundee.
Emergency services were called to the old Shell garage on West Marketgait shortly after 10pm on Tuesday.
Locals saw smoke coming from the former kiosk building, which is now boarded up.
The garage closed earlier this year after plans to transform the site into 173 student flats were approved.
However, no work has yet taken place at the site and the garage forecourt has since become a makeshift car park.
Shell and the developer of the site were previously contacted about the parking but have yet to make any comment.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call at 10.11pm to reports of an incident at a premises on West Marketgait.
“Two appliances were mobilised from Blackness Road and Kingsway to the scene.
“We received the stop message at 11.10pm.”
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We received a report of a fire at a premises in West Marketgait, Dundee which was reported to police at 10.10pm on Tuesday.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
The flats plan is one of several in the pipeline for Dundee city centre.
Proposals for apartments next to the former Groucho’s record store have already been approved.
There are also plans to demolish the old Liquid nightclub for flats, as well as proposals for student accommodation on the former De Stihl’s nightclub site.
