Broughty Ferry RNLI and the Coastguard helicopter have called off a major search near the Tay Road Bridge with the Coastguard reporting they were confident no one was in the water.
The search was called off shortly before 3pm. It was launched following reports of a person in the water near the Tay Road Bridge.
Both lifeboats were dispatched shortly before midday in response to the reports, searching the area close to the road and rail bridges.
A Coastguard helicopter joined the operation, searching low over the water.
