Fitness expert Joe Wicks joined the weekly Dundee parkrun as part of his BBC Children in Need campaign.

Joe, 37, led the 5k walk at Camperdown Country Park on Saturday to raise funds for the charity.

The Walk With Joe initiative hopes to inspire communities across the UK to head to their local parkrun event and walk the route with family and friends to boost their physical and mental wellbeing.

Participants were asked to donate what they could to BBC Children in Need, to support children and young people in communities across the UK.

As part of the campaign, which was launched in Maidenhead last week, Joe is leading walks at four different parkrun locations across the UK.

Parkrun is a series of weekly 5km runs that take place in parks all around the world.

Celebrity fitness coach joined by Scots social media star at Dundee parkrun

Joe, also known as The Body Coach, rose to fame in 2014 when he started posting fitness videos on social media.

He was well-known during lockdown for keeping the nation’s children in shape with his popular ‘PE with Joe’ online sessions.

He was awarded an MBE by the Queen in 2020 for his services to charity and fitness.

The trainer was joined by Scottish social media star Ash Reid, known for her parenting and lifestyle advice, at the parkrun event.

Our photographer Alan Richardson was there to capture some of the best moments on camera.
