A driver was allegedly caught doing 57mph in a 30mph zone during a speeding crackdown in Dundee.
Officers launched the early-morning operation on Fountainbleau Drive in Linlathen following complaints by local residents.
Police say a total of 19 motorists were caught speeding during the operation on Friday, which took place between 6am and 7am.
One driver has been reported to prosecutors after allegedly being clocked doing 57mph – nearly double the speed limit.
Further speeding crackdowns promised
PC Christopher Stewart of the force’s road policing unit says there will be further operations of this kind.
He said: “Even though it’s early morning and there isn’t much traffic on the road, there are still a large number of pedestrians and cyclists in the area commuting to and from their work.
“We will continue to carry out early-morning operations in order to keep those using the roads and walking in the area safe.”
