A boy is in hospital after being attacked by two dogs at a property in Dundee.
Police are investigating after the five-year-old was mauled at an address in the Charleston area of the city.
He has been in Ninewells Hospital since the attack on Friday afternoon.
Police confirmed two dogs were removed but say there was “no risk to the wider public”.
A spokeswoman said: “Police in Dundee received a report of a five-year-old boy having been attacked by two dogs within a property on Gourdie Terrace, at around 2.15pm on Friday.
“The boy was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains.
“The dogs have been removed from the property and inquiries into the incident continue.
“There is no risk to the wider public.”
Charlie Malone, councillor for the area, wished the youngster a “speedy recovery”.
He said: “Firstly, I wish the boy a speedy recovery.
“It’s not the first time we’ve heard of dog attacks on individuals.
“I think there is a need to remind people of their responsibilities when it comes to owning dogs.
“Not just the wellbeing of the dogs but also the wellbeing of anyone who comes into contact with them.
“Especially if they are larger dogs which can do damage.
“I just hope the young lad can recover as well as he can and is not too traumatised by the events.”
