An Uber Eats driver has lost his livelihood after his motorbike was stolen from a Dundee street.
Fahad Khan contacted police after discovering his Honda CBR 125R bike was taken from Allan Lane in the city centre.
The cyber security student was visiting a friend’s home in the Seagate area when it was taken on Saturday November 5.
The delivery driver said the theft left him unable to work for Uber Eats and he has had to find another job to support his studies at Dundee and Angus College.
‘I worked for Uber Eats every day’
Fahad, 18, said: “I parked the bike on Allan Lane and placed a cover over it.
“When I’ve come out on Sunday afternoon the bike was gone and the cover was lying in the space.
“I contacted the police straightaway to report it stolen and also placed an appeal on social media.
“It’s a nightmare that this has happened. I’m a student and was working for Uber Eats every day to support myself.”
Possible sightings in Dundee
Fahad who lives in the Douglas area of the city said there have been some sightings of the bike locally since it was taken.
He added: “There was reports of the bike being spotted in Douglas and also near Baxter Park.
“The sighting at Baxter Park was the day after it was reported stolen.
“People said the person was doing burnouts on the bike but the person was wearing a mask.
“Someone also phoned me to say they had the bike and it would cost me £500 to get it back.
“I’m not sure if this was just a crank call I received last week or someone knew where it was but they hung-up.
“I’ve only had the bike for around three months, I’m angry that someone has taken it.”
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said the investigation into the theft is ongoing.
She said: “Around 2.50pm on Sunday November 6, police received a report that a motorbike had been stolen from an address on Allan Lane, Dundee.
“Inquiries into the theft are ongoing.”
