Friday’s weather led to chaos in Tayside and Fife but for three young Dundee lads it also brought the chance for a bit of fun.
They braved the downpour to take to the flooded football pitches at the city’s Drumgeith Park on a rubber dinghy just before teatime.
The stunt was caught on camera by a motorist, who said he simply had to stop to take a few pictures and some video of the “young team”.
He told The Courier: “I was passing just after 4pm and saw the boys in the inflatable boat on the flood water at Drumgeith football pitches.
“Nearly all the pitches were flooded and it was certainly a sight to see – they were having a ball.
“I was just passing in my car and thought I really had to take a video of what they were doing.”
‘Good old-fashioned fun’
Another person who saw the fun said: “It’s been a miserable day with so many people so badly affected by the dreadful weather.
“To see the lads having a it of fun was uplifting and great fun.
“They weren’t doing anyone any harm and just making the most of the situation and larking around.
“It was good old-fashioned fun.”
Torrential rain in the region caused travel disruption, school closures and homes to be evacuated.
