Braeview Academy duo Ewan Ferrie and Cole Conner are preparing to rock our first ever Evening Telegraph Christmas Concert.
The pair will perform Oasis’ Half the World Away to Elton John’s Step Into Christmas at our special event on Sunday.
They are among young people from six local schools and youth groups which will perform a series of festive favourites in our Meadowside office.
And if you don’t want to miss the seasonal sparkle snap up your tickets before it’s too late for the 1.30pm and 4.30pm performances.
Cole, 15, and Ewan, 14, have played in front of schoolmates but this will be their public debut.
Ewan said: “We are buzzing to perform together at our first event outside of our school community and first since Covid-19 put performances on hold.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to be able to be part of, and we’re looking forward to representing Braeview Academy.”
The pair are studying National 5 music – Cole voice and keyboard and Ewan guitar and bass guitar – and the concert will help before their final performing exam.
Leah O’Neill, principal music teacher at Braeview, said: “Both boys have been performing for several years now, however it was only since S4 they have been performing together within a bigger rock group.
“With Covid-19, they didn’t get the chance to get together before then.
“They have performed in school events, such as a concert for transitioning P7s, and will be performing with their whole rock band at the school’s Christmas concert.
“This will be their first performance together outside of the school.”

We hope the concert will become a regular feature of Christmas in Dundee, inspired by the annual festive concert our sister newspaper the Evening Express has staged in Aberdeen for more than 50 years.
Local schools will benefit, as proceeds from ticket sales will go to our Pounds for Primaries initiative in which local schools collect tokens to share in a £10,000 prize pot.
Tickets available through www.eventbrite.com – search for Evening Telegraph Christmas Concert 2022 – cost £10 for adults and £5 for concessions plus a booking fee.
