A 15-year-old boy has been reported for allegedly being in possession of a knife in a Dundee secondary school.
Police were contacted after an incident at the school on Monday.
The youngster has now been reported to the youth justice assessor.
The school cannot be named as it may identify the boy involved.
One parent at the school has described the incident as “concerning”.
Incident reported to teacher
She told the Courier the matter been reported to a guidance teacher before the police were contacted.
She said: “You expect your children to feel safe at school.
“It’s concerning to hear police were called to an incident regarding a knife.
“The school should have made parents aware of the police attending the school for an incident of this nature.”
No threats made or injuries
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “On Monday November 21, a 15-year-old male youth was reported to the youth justice assessor for allegedly being in possession of a knife within school premises at a secondary school in Dundee.
“No one was injured or threatened with the knife.”
Dundee City Council has been contacted for comment.
