More than £400,000 worth of improvements to the Stobswell area of Dundee is set to be approved.
The investment, which would see several parts of the neighbourhood upgraded, will go before councillors next week.
The £415,421 project will begin in the new year if given the green light – with a completion date in early summer 2023.
What work will take place?
The improvements will include the installation of a “pocket park” on Craigie Street and upgrades to the public space on Langlands Street.
The pocket park was approved in June, and will feature rain gardens, new lighting, cycle racks and seating.
Meanwhile work will be carried out at the junctions between Albert Street and Arthurstone Terrace, Park Avenue and Balmore Street – with the aim of improving the experience for pedestrians and addressing surface water issues.
The work will be funded by Dundee City Council, the Cycling, Walking and Safer Street initiative, Sustrans and Scottish Water.
Plans to make areas of city ‘more attractive’
Mark Flynn, convener of Dundee City Council’s city development committee, said: “We are committed to continuing to make all of the district centres more attractive, healthy and positive destinations for local people, as well as those from other communities across the city.
“Albert Street area will benefit from more outdoor public space and changes that will make it easier for pedestrians to get around.”
