A car has been dumped in playing fields in Dundee and set on fire.
Firefighters and police were called to the rugby pitches just off the A90 Forfar Road in Linlathen at around 7.30am on Wednesday.
No one was injured but police say the blaze was started deliberately.
Images from the scene show the burnt-out shell of the car and damage caused by tyre tracks on the field.
A driver who was passing the scene at the time described seeing a “huge fire” and a “large pall of smoke”.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call to Forfar Road at 7.30am on Wednesday.
“We mobilised one appliance from Kingsway station and arrived on scene at 7.36am.
“It was one vehicle and we used one water jet and one breathing apparatus.
“The stop message came in at 7.44am.”
Police inquiries into ‘wilful’ fire ongoing
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a car on fire on grass near to Forfar Road, Dundee, around 7.30am on Wednesday.
“There were no reports of any injuries.
“The fire is currently being treated as wilful and inquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 0410 of November 30.”
