A man has been taken to hospital after an attempted murder at a flat in Dundee.
It is understood the 37-year-old man was stabbed at the Dallfield Court multi on Wednesday night.
The victim was rushed to Ninewells Hospital following the attack in the Hilltown area but the extent of his injuries are not known.
Police rushed to the scene at around 9pm on the Hilltown and no arrests have been made.
‘I was told it was a stabbing’
A visible police presence remained in the area shortly before midnight with one resident confirming officers were stationed on a landing.
The man said: “I was aware police were inside the block on one of the upper levels.
“We’ve been told it was a stabbing, one man had been taken away by paramedics as police investigated.”
One woman who lives in the block, and asked not to be named, said: “I opened my door last night and a police officer had a bit of blood on his hi-vis and said to stay inside as someone had been stabbed.
Residents ‘immune’ to incidents in Dallfield Court
“I couldn’t see from my house but my friend told me there was a number of police vehicles at the scene when it happened.
“The police came to our door a few times and officers were also on another landing.
“There was no sort of shock when I heard it was an attempted murder – I’ve almost become immune to the things that happen here now.”
Another man who lives in the multi told The Courier there were items of clothing on the landing at around 8am on Thursday.
He said: “There was blood on some of the walls both on the landing and the stairwell leading to it.
“I saw what I assume was forensics taking the clothing from the floor and putting it into evidence bags.”
A police spokeswoman said: “Around 9pm on Wednesday officers attended at Dallfield Court in Dundee following the attempted murder of a 37-year-old man.
“He was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
