An elderly woman has died after taking unwell on board a Dundee bus.
Emergency services were called to the Xplore Dundee service at around 3pm on Thursday, on Buttars Road in Charleston.
An eyewitness told The Courier that the bus remained on the street for three hours while the incident was dealt with.
She said: “The bus pulled in and the ambulance was sitting there until back of 6pm.
“My son ran up when the ambulance arrived and he said it was a woman who was taken on the stretcher.”
Woman pronounced dead at scene
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of an 85-year-old woman having taken unwell on a bus on Buttars Road at around 3.20pm on Thursday.
“Emergency services attended however the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 2.49pm on Thursday to attend an incident on Buttars Road. We dispatched one ambulance to the scene.”
