Children were left “screaming” after a masked man entered a Dundee restaurant and attacked a diner.
Police have launched an investigation after the incident in Weavers Mill at Camperdown Leisure Park on Sunday.
It is claimed a man wearing a baseball cap, with his face covered, entered the restaurant and attacked another man sitting near the soft play area.
He then fled using an exit door and is thought to have left on a bike.
‘Glasses smashed’ during restaurant attack
One customer, who did not wish to be named, says glasses were smashed during the incident.
She said: “The person responsible had their face covered.
“There was a commotion at first and then there were glasses smashed near the soft play area.
Kids were screaming. People also called 999 and asked for ambulance and police to attend
“The guy who was getting attacked suffered injuries to his head.
“People were freaked out by what was going on.

Customers ‘aghast’ at assault
Another customer who was also in the restaurant at the time told The Courier she was “totally aghast at what happened”.
She said: “The victim was just enjoying his meal like other families inside.
“It was so intense – glasses were getting smashed. I could see the victim but could only see the back of the attacker.
“It seemed planned. People were fearing he might come back or could still be outside.”
A spokesperson for Weavers Mill, run by Sizzling Pubs – part of the Mitchells & Butlers group – confirmed the company is assisting police.
The spokesperson said: “We can confirm there was an incident at the pub yesterday evening.
“We are fully co-operating with the police investigation.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 5.30pm on Sunday to a report of an assault in the Dayton Drive area of Dundee.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
