Police have arrested a teenager after he was allegedly caught carrying a knife on board a “packed” Dundee bus.
Officers pulled over the number 17 service on Albert Street in Stobswell just after 3.30pm on Friday.
The Xplore Dundee service, which was travelling between Whitfield and Ninewells Hospital, was stopped near Eliza Street.
Moments later, a number of officers boarded the bus.
‘Lots of schoolkids’ on board bus
A youth was then seen being escorted from the vehicle.
It is understood no one was harmed or injured in the incident.
A witness said: “There were two cop cars and about four officers.
“The bus pulled in and some people got off, then the bus was away again.
“It all lasted maybe 15 minutes – it was quite quick.
“The bus was packed as well with lots of schoolkids on board.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.35pm police were called to a report of a man in possession of a knife on a bus on Albert Street, Dundee.
“Officers attended and a 17-year-old man has been arrested and is the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal in connection with the incident.”
