A man has been taken to hospital after being assaulted in Dundee City Centre.
The condition of the 44-year-old has not been revealed.
Police Scotland have confirmed they are investigating after the assault was reported first thing on Saturday morning.
A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “Around 6.15am on Saturday police received a report a man had been assaulted in New In Entry, Dundee.
“Officers attended and the 44-year-old man was taken to hospital.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.”
Forensics officers at location
Police cordoned off an area behind the Keiller Centre in Dundee city centre on Saturday morning following the assault.
The police cordon was put up at Chapel Street, behind the centre, preventing access by members of the public.
An eyewitness said: “There was a police van parked up and police tape preventing anyone getting into the area at the back door of the centre.
“There was also a van that had police forensics officers in it.
“It’s impossible to see what’s happening.
“However, it’s really concerning to see police there and the area cordoned off.”
Another eye-witness said: “When I passed on Saturday morning police were at the scene behind the Keiller Centre and they had put police tape up to stop people going into the area.”
