Dundee police have issued a UB40-inspired safety message ahead of the band’s gig on the city’s waterfront.
The reggae-pop groupĀ are playing tomorrow asĀ part of Summer in Slessor Gardens, which will also play host toĀ Little Mix and Olly Murs in the coming months.
However in a light-hearted safety message to the people of Dundee, the Tayside Police Division offeredĀ the “one in ten” residents heading along to the gig some “food for thought”.
The force also riffed off of songs Homely Girl and Red Red Wine.
OnĀ a slighter more serious note they warned that anyone who “behaves like a rat” in their “kitchen” would “end up getting breakfast in bed at Bell Street”.
The Dundee police HQ is located on the road.
Ending on a lighter note, theĀ force said they “don’t anticipate any problems” Ā ahead of whatĀ they predicted would be aĀ “great event for the city of Dundee”.
As around one in ten of Tayside’s population heads to Slessor Gardens in Dundee for the UB40 concert tomorrow evening, here’s some food for thought. We hope all you homely girls (and boys) have a great time. We’d also advise not to have too much red red wine, as if anyone behaves like a rat in my kitchen you might end up getting breakfast in bed at Bell Street.
We know above was a labour of love, but in all seriousness, we don’t anticipate any problems, as this looks like being a great event for the city of Dundee.
Here is a reminder of the road closures if you are travelling in or around the City Centre in the lead up to the concert.
