A man has been arrested in connection with a break-in at a restaurant in Dundee.
Police were called to Bridgeview Station restaurant on Riverside Drive at around 3am.
As many as 10 police officers descended on the scene after owner Dale Elder raised the alarm.
Dale, 65, said the carriageway (takeaway section) was closed for a couple of hours as a forensic officer was inspecting the damaged glass.
Dale said: “My phone started pinging this morning (Tuesday) with the alarm system.
“I came down straightaway and we contacted the police.
“There was about 10 police officers on the scene and they took statements and a man was taken into custody.
“We’d only installed the new alarm system very recently after another attempted break-in last week.
“It’s concerning that this has happened and we’ve also been aware of other local eateries being targeted in recent weeks.”
Forensics
He added: “Thankfully the business was able to open as normal, however we did have to close the takeaway side for a few hours.
“Forensics were checking the damaged door frame for prints so the carriageway didn’t open until about 10am.
“We redirected the customers into the restaurant so there wasn’t an impact on trade.”
