A Dundee schoolboy has been laid to rest following his sudden death aged six.
Family, friends and team-mates of Jack Stewart gathered at Dundee Crematorium for the youngster’s funeral on Thursday.
Jack, a pupil at Sidlaw View Primary School, died unexpectedly on May 7.
Mourners were invited to wear a touch of tangerine at the funeral service to pay tribute to the Dundee United fan.
Several people had United scarves on for the service.
Jack’s hearse arrived with flowers spelling out “brother” and his coffin was adorned with the red and blue colours of Dundee West – the team he played for.
Many of those attending his funeral also wore Dundee West colours.
It comes after thousands of fans at United’s game with Ross County on Saturday took part in a minute’s applause in his memory.
Jack’s mum Jillian previously described her son as the “light of their lives”, saying his loss had left the family “broken-hearted”.
Speaking on behalf of the Stewart family earlier this month, Jillian told The Courier: “The years Jack gave us were so happy and special and we will miss him terribly.
“Although it does not ease the pain, we are overwhelmed by the good in people and wish to thank everybody for their kind messages and gestures.
“It has given us some comfort and this incredibly difficult and tragic time.”
More than £19,000 has been raised in Jack’s memory through a GoFundMe page set up by Dundee West.
The money raised will go towards a memorial for Jack, with the remainder being donated to the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, where the youngster received treatment.
A spokesperson for Dundee West said previously: “All our thoughts are with Ian, Jillian and Jack’s younger sister Rebecca, as well as the wider family.”
