Rock band Placebo will return to singer Brian Molko’s hometown of Dundee in October to mark his band’s 20th anniversary.
The band will perform at the Caird Hall on October 8 as part of their “20 Years of Placebo” world tour.
Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday.
Although born in Belgium and spending time as a child in Liberia and Lebanon, lead singer Brian Molko has called his mother’s hometown of Dundee as “the place where I grew up”.
Molko’s relatives still stay in Dundee and the singer has made several visits to the city.
He even offered Dundee band The Mirror Trap a support slot with Placebo after seeing the group play at the city’s tine Non-Zero venue.
Molko formed Placebo with guitarist-bassist Stefan Olsdal in London in 1994.
Both had attended the American International School of Luxembourg but did join forces musically until they bumped into each other in London in 1994.
They shot to fame with the release of their eponymous debut in 1996 and have gone on to sell more than 11 million records worldwide.
Their first album reached number five in the UK album charts, establishing them as one of the biggest rock bands in the country.
The band even appeared in the movie Velvet Goldmine alongside Ewan McGregor and performed on stage with David Bowie.
They have now released seven albums.
To celebrate the announcement of their UK, the band posted a new video for their cover of Talk Talk’s Life’s What You Make It online.
The group also released a “best of” compilation album to mark their 20-year anniversary.
