It was an operation months in the planning, and many hours in the execution.
But our special timelapse video condenses into a minute the final hour of the complex effort to bring the Rowan V jackup rig into Dundee Port on June 13.
The arrival of the Rowan Gorilla V was carried out by the Havila Mercury which acted as the lead towing vessel assisted by tugs Crammond, Kitiwake, Strathdee and Strathdon.
The rig’s arrival means Dundee becomes home to five jackup rigs at once for the first time.
Industry chiefs say it is proof that the city has a major role to play in the future.
