A 29-year-old man was subjected to an unprovoked assault in Broughty Ferry.
The incident occurred around 7.35am on Tuesday morning as the victim walked in Claypotts Road near the junction with Victoria Road.
The attacker as described as being in his mid 30s and about 6ft 2 in height. He had short dark hair and was wearing blue workman’s trousers and a blue polo shirt.
It is believed that a passing motorist stopped to help the victim who was left shaken but unhurt following the incident.
