Comedian Jason Manford is coming to Dundee next year, it has been announced.
The Manchester funnyman will perform at the Caird Hall on Saturday September 15 2018, with tickets available to purchase online now.
A former team captain on Channel 4’s hit panel show, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Manford has now announced his return to the comedy circuit after several years out and fans are expected to snap up Dundee tickets within hours of them going on sale.
His show promises to feature a wealth of new material about growing up ‘working class’ then finding, over the years, that part of him has become ‘middle class’ – causing him much confusion.
Manford said of his decision to launch his tour, named, Muddle Class: “Somebody said to me on my Facebook fan page, ‘it’s been ages since you’ve toured’. I thought ‘no way, it was last year wasn’t it?
“Anyway, long story short, they were right, it was years ago!
“I just got fooled cos I’ve been on tour doing musicals and the last tour is repeated on Dave ja Vu 13 times a day!
“So I’ve been putting some stuff together, looking at my life and how it’s changed over the years, how the world has changed and how my parents haven’t changed a bit! It’s going to be a great tour and I can’t wait to see you there.”
The 36-year-old Salford-born joker has appeared on a variety of comedy shows since establishing himself on the scene, with appearances on the BBC’s Live at the Apollo, Have I got News for You, and QI, as well as ITV’s Sunday Night at the Palladium and the The Royal Variety Performance.
He has also established himself as a favourite on national airwaves in recent years and now has his own Sunday morning show on Absolute Radio.
Tickets are also due to go on sale on Friday June 23 from Dundee City Box Office in person and online at www.dundeebox.co.uk
