A world champion kickboxer from Dundee is being inundated with messages of support from fans despite being jailed for a terrifying campaign of intimidation against his former partner.
Ronnie ‘The Shark’ Clark was jailed for nine months earlier in July after being prosecuted under new laws which make it a crime to engage in controlling or coercive behaviour.
Clark, 32, installed spyware on Rebecca Graham’s mobile and tried to rule her life even after the couple split up.
Their relationship had collapsed as a result of the Dundee fighter’s affairs.
But Clark, who is also a super-featherweight boxer, continued to try to control Graham’s life and made menacing demands in a barrage of emails and text messages.
His brother also sent threatening messages to the mum-of two, one of which said Clark was “not scared of killing people”.
He also gave Miss Graham a phone with spyware on it that allowed him to see who she was communicating with. He then threatened to kill a man she texted.
Miss Graham told the court she had been left terrified by the ordeal and on medication for anxiety.
Clark denied the charges but was jailed last month after magistrates at North Allerton found him guilty.
A post on Clark’s Facebook page asks for family and friends to send in pictures of the fighter to help keep his spirits up behind bars.
It states: “Just a message on behalf of Team Clark.
“Ronnie is missing everyone outside! We need to cheer him up as much as possible, keep the spirits up and support going, which he really needs at the minute.
“On Monday  next week we’re going to send a big envelope to him with lots of pictures, which we know he will love.
“So if you could all spare a second, do us a huge huge favour and forward your favourite picture with Ronnie including only a short message of support.
“We will print them for everyone, write your message on the back and send them all together on Monday. Hope you can all find a pic with him and take part, we know it would make a huge positive difference to him at this time. ”
The post has received dozens of likes and several responses.
One Facebook user posted: “Times like these are out to test us but once over we come out bigger bolder rougher and tougher with even more determination to go further in life, keep strong all the best.”
Another wrote: “Ronnie’s a warrior and he’ll come out this stronger and more determined than ever before.”
