Locals were told to avoid a Dundee industrial estate this afternoon following a “chemical incident”.
Police closed Liff and Myrekirk roads following the apparent ammonia leak at Dundee Cold Stores on Whittle Place, which took place at about 1.40pm.
Traffic built up on the Kingsway as a result.
Six fire teams from Macalpine Road, Blackness Road and Balmossie were called to the scene along with the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Two people who were complaining of sore eyes and throat are said to have been treated at the scene. There were no other injuries.
The fire and rescue service spokeswoman said: “Police asked us to attend. We had four pumps and two supplies. It was a chemical spill.
“The leak is now isolated. A multi-agency meeting took place.
“Our stop message is in, the majority of us have all left.”
Officers warned people to avoid the area as the incident was dealt with.
