Indie rock band The Charlatans will play a Dundee music festival later this month.
The group has revealed they will take to the main stage of the city’s Carnival 56 at Camperdown Park on Sunday, August 13 after Clean Bandit pulled out of the event.
A Carnival 56 statement said: “Unfortunately, Clean Bandit have had to pull out of C56 due to unforeseen circumstances on their part. We are incredibly sorry for this news.
“We have been working incredibly hard to bring you a replacement and we are delighted to bring you one of Britain’s most iconic indie rock bands – The Charlatans.
“Having earned a reputation as one of the greatest festival bands of all time, we cannot wait to have them join us on the main stage on Sunday 13 and light up Camperdown Park.”
Over 100 acts will perform on seven stages across the two days.
The festival will be the largest open-air music event in Dundee since Radio 1’s Big Weekend was staged in the city in 2006.
The festival will take place from August 12 to 13.
