An imaginative love note has sprung up on a neglected Dundee billboard beneath the Tay Rail Bridge.
Locals spotted the mystery message pasted on top of an old, faded advertisement on Riverside Approach in recent days and began appealing for information.
The sign reads: “Kate, you are my fate. We shouldn’t mess, our happiness. Fire not gone, and LOVE still on!!!”
The billboard, which is was once managed by Primesight, is said to have gone unused for some time.
The rhyming message has been pasted on in large letters and has been amusing walkers and motorists passing under the bridge.
West End Liberal Democrat councillor Fraser Macpherson said though there are more than likely many Kates in his ward, one would most definitely be feeling red-faced.
He added: “I think people, local residents, will see the funny side. The billboard is based on the Network Rail site beside the bridge and it’s sat without an advert for a little bit of time.
“I admire the entrepreneurship of the person involved. I think residents will just see the amusing side of it.
“It is an amusing thing. I can genuinely say some of these bigger, similar banners you get over flyovers are not helpful, they can go down on windscreens and so on. This causes nobody any difficulties.
“Thankfully there is no surnames and there is a lot of Kates out there. I daresay she will know who she is.”
A Primesight spokeswoman said the billboard was no longer under its control, but wished Kate all the best.
She added: “This billboard has been out of action for a number of years and no longer under Primesight’s management, and was due to be taken down. We do wish Kate and her billboard poster the best of luck in love.”
