A man was hit over the back of his head with a glass in an early hours assault on Ward Road.
Police are looking to speak to a skinny male with blonde shoulder-length hair who ran from the scene outside the Balcony bar at around 1.30 am on Thursday morning, who they believe is responsible.
He is described as being in his early 20s and was wearing a red Adidas t-shirt with white stripes.
The victim was taken to Ninewells where he was treated for an injury.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Anyone with any information that may be useful should contact Tayside Division on 101 quoting CR/20821/17 or speak to any police officer.
“Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
