Dundee’s newest attraction has made a splash  after its first weekend of being open to the public was hailed a success.

Foxlake Adventures’ new wakeboarding centre at City Quay welcomed over 60 customers on Saturday and Sunday and was said to have had positive feedback.

The centre is expected to be open every day until November and two days a week over the winter.

Manager Zak Hegarty said: “The first day on Saturday was a big success.

“The morning was a bit quiet but later when the sun came out we filled up nicely.

“We had around 30-35 people and we’ve had about the same today so far. The bookings are also continuing to come in so we will have even more later on.

“We are really pleased so far. The feedback from people has been very positive and we’re already getting five star reviews online.

“We’re open every day now and that will continue until November.

“After that, we are hoping to be open for at least two days a week – it depends on demand.

“We foresee the venture being a success.”

The area around the centre was busy over the weekend, with spectators gathering to watch the wakeboarders.

A number of customers were trying the sport for the very first time and seemed to be making good progress.

Zak explained that wakeboarding was not difficult to learn, at least in the initial stages.
